Syllabus 9697 had been replaced by syllabus 9389 (History). Its final examination series was Oct/Nov 2014. For newer past papers, you should specify the new syllabus code 9389.

In this case, w14 means the May - June exam in 2014. Other exam seasons can be expressed as:
